Locals may have noticed a little “feathering” going on inside Green Turtle Wine & Spirits lately, as staff worked tirelessly to open The Nest, Islamadora, an invigorating spot to cheer on your favorite team or celebrate over drinks and appetizers with friends. Since opening in September, The Nest has become a “cool” (the only air-conditioned sports bar in town) destination for hip crowds to enjoy a carefully crafted menu of select gastronomic delights.
With a variety of seating options from high cocktail tables to relaxed sofas, The Nest draws guests looking for something a little more refined than the traditional sports bar. An upscale twist on bar food inspired a limited menu featuring early fan favorite Chicken and Waffle sliders with spicy maple syrup.
The Nest has nine high-quality televisions streaming NFL Game Day and college football games, which are drawing crowds day and night on weekends.
Expanding the sports bar persona and catering to the island crowd, General Manager Chris Frank said they’ll look to create future events such as derby days. The fresh new venue is also available to rent for private events. With a dedicated kitchen, expansive bar and audio-visual equipment, it’s an ideal place to host events of all kinds including bachelor parties, corporate occasions and fishing tournaments.
“We recently held our first cooking class at The Nest and we’re planning wine and beer pairing and tasting events and much more in the future,” said Chris.
