If you’re looking for a contemporary venue with lots of local history, The Powerhouse is the perfect venue for you and yours. Originally constructed in 1917 as The Schoellkopf Powerhouse and then turned into the Buffalo Color plant, the building was once a leader in dye and color products. After sitting vacant for decades, this 22,000-square-foot space was reimagined into an expansive industrial-chic haven accommodating up to 500 wedding guests. Imagine the memories you could make in a space beloved for authentic exposed brick and masonry, lofty ceilings, Georgian-esque arches, four patios and private suites.

After an $18 million renovation in 2014, the Atrium @ Rich’s has become known for its spacious reception area and modern design. The Atrium’s furnishings blend seamlessly with its signature focal point: a captivating, three-story fireplace that was crafted from salvaged bricks from an early 19th-century Chicago factory. The venue has a capacity of up to 350 guests, state-of-the-art light and audio systems and the support of Rich’s Catering classically-trained culinarians and event planners. Between exchanging vows behind the fireplace and dancing the night away on the dance floor, the Atrium @ Rich’s is sure to be an unforgettable, elegant evening.

Shea’s Performing Arts Center

Shea’s Performing Arts Center allows couples and their guests to step into a world of timeless elegance and grandeur. Built in 1926 as a movie theater, Shea’s has become the epicenter of theater and entertainment in Buffalo. Two stunning spaces are available for weddings within Shea’s Performing Arts Center for weddings, including up to 300 guests at the Main Stage and up to 176 guests at the Grand Lobby. The venue is known for opulent marble halls and stunning vaulted ceilings, bringing unparalleled beauty to your special day. Ceremonies may also be performed at Shea’s 710 Theatre and Shea’s Smith Theatre.

The Bank

If your wedding vision board looks anything like The Great Gatsby, The Bank is your dream venue. Located just 30 minutes outside of Buffalo in East Aurora, this gorgeous heritage building and former bank offer a bright, open space with a neutral palette and soft tones. Its main event space can host up to 130 guests and offers another 50 seats up above on the loft levels. There are also options for outdoor weddings in The Courtyard, which offers 144 guests (80 for dining) a romantic, open-air celebration. Chiavari chairs, round dining tables and professional sound transform this space into a Prohibition Era-chic experience that everyone will remember for years to come. Down below, guests can even stay overnight at Beneath the Bank in beautifully restored suites.
